Faith & Guidance 2023 is a 30x40 inch multi-media piece depicting the cycle of faith found and faith loss. The work intends to remind the viewer of the creation/loss/creation of faith and our relationship with trust. The term faith is used in its common interpretation and is not affiliated with particular religions or divinity. Instead, it is there to remind us about our role in developing trust with ourselves and our worlds.
The purpose of this piece was to present doubt as a natural part of faith. To show the wider framework of faith and contextualize doubt within the same flows found in the life/death/life cycle. Like all things in our lives, they are subject to change.
Every detail of this piece comes back to the cyclical and paradoxical nature of faith and doubt.
